Multi Gym Machines - An Overview

!±8± Multi Gym Machines - An Overview

Multi gym machines give resistance training on a variety of movements. They are to be found in training centers for athletes, public gyms, and form part of a home gym. They are safer than using free weights and thus require less supervision. More expensive equipment is of better quality than cheaper ones.

Built around a steel frame multi gym machines have a series of cables, weights and pulleys to give a variety of exercises. You can workout various muscles and muscle groups with different resistance exercises. Increasing the weights will give more resistance which will increase your strength.

We are all unique, with our own personal goals, because of this there is no one multi gym machine which will be appropriate for everyone. It is best to test the machine for fit with light weights at first. If the machine is uncomfortable make some adjustments to make it more comfortable. However if after the changes the machine still feels awkward perhaps this particular machine is not for you and you should try a different one.

Each action or exercise you can perform around a multi gym machine is known as a station. Different machines have different numbers of stations. A basic machine will have around 10 to 15 while a more complex ones can have as many as 70. When beginning it is better to look for ease of use rather than complexity or having a large number of stations.

Each station will exercise a different group of muscles and it is important to use the right technique with each.

Pace yourself. You may be able to lift a heavy weight at first however if the workout is too hard you will struggle to repeat the lift the exercise and may damage your muscle or tendon.

This is an introduction to multi gym machines there is much more information on my website, look for the link in the resource box below.
